I have been pretty impressed with it so far. It's fast. Nearly a year ago I had switched to Chrome as my default browser because I was sick of waiting for IE8 to let me browse. I just want to open a web browser, and search for the info I want! Is that too much to ask?
Well, Microsoft finally caught on. When IE9 was in beta status I tried it out, and to be honest it was fast - and it froze pretty fast too. Nothing CTRL+ALT+DEL wouldn't fix though. Some sites wouldn't work either. But since the Release Candidate (RC) came out about a month ago, all the problems seemed to have been fixed! All my sites worked, it hasn't frozen since, and it's still FAST!
And this morning Microsoft released the FINAL version of it. This will only work on PCs running Windows Vista or 7, due to its use of hardware acceleration (better visual stuff!), which they can't make Windows XP do. Lets face it, it's time to give up Windows XP anyway.
So if you're brave enough to try something new, download Internet Explorer 9. Keep in mind - if you absolutely depend on some websites, such as banks, or web applications, make sure those will work before you upgrade.
