Don’t Panic!

Below is a screenshot of a WEB PAGE!
Fake Infection Webpage screenshot

Don't Panic - It's only a webpage! (Click for full size)

I wanted to share this with everyone just in case you happen to end up on one like it.

The method they use here is that they have probably hacked into your friend or coworker’s email account, and send an email to everyone in the address book, which means you, with a link. It’s from someone you know so you click on the link, and you are brought to this screen. It looks like you have opened up My Computer, and now it’s counting all the viruses and infections you have! Scary!

But what you are actually seeing is an animation. What they want you to do is click on the “Remove all” button which will download their fake antivirus, which will only cause you harm.

If you happen to see this on your own PC, stop, breath, click on the red X button in the top right of your screen to close the browser. Then maybe think about giving your friend a call who sent you the link in the first place, their account was probably hacked.

You, on the other hand, are probably fine, unless you fell for it. If so, give us a call and we’ll take care of it!
